2012 Grenache, Santa Barbara County

Bedford2012Grenache-250-web

Here is a wine that is reminiscent of an expensive bottle of coveted red pulled from a beloved cellar to be shared with those who appreciate the benefits of aging. It does not offer blunt, youthful fruit, but rather grace and a refinement that only comes from time.

This is a soft, fragrant Grenache with dulcet fruit and Old World notes of leather and dusty earth. The fruit is from Alisos Canyon in Los Alamos. Long, gentle barrel aging in French oak barrels integrated the fruit character with the oak, creating a wine of strength and grace. It is garnet in color, and when swirled in the glass, releases a ripe, dark plum aroma. On the palate the wine offers dried cherry and plum skin fruit, with clove, earthy spice and toasted nut notes that carry through to the finish. Serve with chicken Marsala or a stuffed grilled pork chop. This is a wine that is ready to enjoy now. Bottle Price: $35.00
